Spent some time looking at the fairly new range of Panasonic DECT handsets. As you’d expect, they’re very solid well-built little devices. They’ve essentially re-packaged and re-designed the two models we’re used to, which are now model numbers KX-TCA175 (standard size) and KX-TCA275 (compact size). Both have pretty much the same features, just one is smaller than the other. They’ve also introduced a ruggedized model, the KX-TCA355 which is dust and splash-proof (IP54 rated).

Panasonic DECT systems have always been THE best you can possibly get. I recall several instances in my engineering past of installations of Panasoninc KX-TDA systems piggy backed onto other PBX’s purely for DECT coverage over a large site.

However, just when you thought it couldn’t get any better they bring out an IP DECT Cell station. This is compatible with any KX-TDE or KX-NCP system, and still uses the same great range of handsets, mentioned above, as the traditional DECT solution. The trump card though is the fact that this cell station can be located anywhere on your LAN or WAN. Got a DECT coverage issue? In your head office, branch office, warehouse, or showroom?

As long as there’s a network connection this baby will give you up to 8 simultaneous DECT calls!

Suddenly, implementing DECT phones in remote offices or locations is a reality and extremely good value too.
